No instructions and extremely difficult to thread the cable through the frame- ended up taking to a local shop to fit as didn’t have the time to faff around with it.

But point taken, we haven't made that clear enough.
I found the charger brake kit quite easy to install (not being the most handy man myself) even if no instructions were included, and I didn't find a demo video on the early rider website. Perhaps that could be useful? It's no different from mounting a V-break on any other bike out there.
This is no cheap plastic garbage. It is a robust brake.
I would buy it again. Putting it on the bike was quite easy. The kid is not yet riding the bike so I cannot tell whether he can use the brake or not. First impression is that it is quite hard to pull. But there are several adjustment options so I guess this can be fixed.
This Kit is a nice and easy upgrade for the Earlyrider Charger 12“. I like it because it can be installed quite easy. The handbook and all components are well prepared.

This is a great kit and everything fit straight to the bike. Everything is included and you won't need to adapt anything in order to mount it. The brakes could be a bit smoother. May be I should have added a bit oil in the cable, but my 2.5-3yo could brake without too much effort.
