From day one of Early Rider, before we’d even launched our first balance bike, we knew one day we’d design and build the world’s best kids’ pedal bike.
To this day, The Belter is the only kids’ bike to ever win a Gold Eurobike award - the most prestigious bike design award in the world. We went on to also win a Red Dot design award and another Eurobike Gold for the Belter 20. To date, the Belter is the most awarded and still our best selling kids’ pedal bike for a reason.
No ordinary everyday bike
We obsessed over every detail of this bike. Not just as engineers but as parents who had seen our own kids struggle with heavy bikes, heavy brakes and heavy wheels. We saw first hand the frustration of bikes that took way too much effort and energy to propel. And experienced first hand the frustration of bikes that covered them, us, the car and the carpet with grease after a big day out.
Brilliantly simple
The Belter is designed to just be easy. It's easy to jump on and easy to get moving. It’s easy to stop and speed up. It’s easy to ride to school, to the park and into the woods. It's easy to ride up curbs thanks to wide tyres and light wheels. And it’s easy to ride up (and down hills) thanks to an efficient geometry and kid friendly brakes.
Perfectly versatile
Over the years, we’ve added more sizes and a bit of variety to the spec to accommodate bigger kid’s needs but the core principles of the Belter remain the same. Light, simple and fun. It’s the bike we wish we had at their age. And it’s the bike our kids, our friend’s kids and kids across the globe have learned the fine art of adventure on.
