Both my kids had previously ridden Easy Rider bikes, so I'd grown used to the top quality and attention to detail. This time, however, I was disappointed.

Two major issues:

1. Out of the box, the cables were routed in the front in a way that made them twisted, tangled, and even affected steering. Unfortunately, I didn't take a photo. I had to remove both grips, both brake levers, and the shifter, in order to re-route them in a way that makes sense. I might have not realized what the problem was if I wasn't into bikes myself.

2. As others have said, the shifting is quite demanding on the small thumbs. My 7yo son only manages to switch between the hardest 3 gears by himself, needs help to go to easier gears.

I'll try to remove the clutch from the derailleur, but if I fail, the bike may end up having to be re-sold.

On the other hand, if a kid has enough strength to shift through the whole gear range, it's a great bike I guess.

great bike. this is our third early rider.

as many have said, shifting to an easier gear is quite difficult for little thumbs. there has to be a better trigger shifter out there for kids.

also, the bike came with the shifter cable running over the top tube, so i had to take off the grip, shifter and brake lever in order to reroute the cable under the top tube. for an $800 bike, quality control should have caught this issue before shipping.

overall, great bike.

This is our second early rider bike and the seeker is just as amazing as our first one.

Our son loves it and has been out and about already on it !

We bought the bike for our 5 year old sun and it's just great and he loves it already. But it is too sad, that the shifting is so hard... He is not able to shift at all and that makes this great bike just unusable.

We would be grateful for some help from earlyrider because it seems to be a common problem.

I think you create and destroy the dreams and hopes of adults who have bought your expensive bikes. When my son and I assembled it, I almost cried that I myself would never have such a perfect bike. Shame on you that there are no adult bikes like this.

The bike is great. Components are very good, as well.

The shipping was fast and efficient.

Only slight negative was that the build was not 100% good. Seems like the person who did the cable routing doesnt really understand how they work. I had to re do them and also cut the cable housings.

A bit of an inconvenience.

I have the tools and know how, but wonder how it mightve been for a person without these capacities.

Shifting is quite to hard for my son. But overall it is excellent bike.

We love seeing our 5 year old riding a bike that is lightweight and is designed to fit her little body. She is a rock solid little rider and I look forward to seeing her riding skills develop further with this bike!
