Great bike, looks beautiful and my child finds it easy to ride. The pedals have very sharp outer edges though, so mind out as they scratch you or material if you catch on the end when carrying or transporting.

In 2015 we became the only kids bike manufacturer ever to win the coveted Eurobike Gold award with our first 20" belt drive. Seven years (and four revisions) later, we still stand alone and so does our Belter 20. The winning formula? Innovation, performance, practicality, comfort and control.
And with good reason too; the rides are getting longer, the routes more demanding and the everyday need to be tearing round the neighbourhood, off the charts.

Great bike, looks beautiful and my child finds it easy to ride. The pedals have very sharp outer edges though, so mind out as they scratch you or material if you catch on the end when carrying or transporting.
My daughter is a small 7 year old. She had no problems with the size of the bike but can easily change the gears, I know others have reported that this has been an issue for them. However no signs of this. She loves the bike and has been zooming around on it for about a month now. The bike is well made and a quality investment for anyone concerned about the price. We’ve had Early Rider bikes for both our kids and have passed them down as they get older. We’ve looked after them but the bikes are so well constructed they almost take care of themselves.

I bought the bike for my 6 year old son. The bike was quickly assembled and the quality of the materials is very high.
the comments from other reviews regarding the force required to shift the gears are correct. but this has more to do with the strength in a 6 year old's hand. the gears do not tighten more than on any other bicycle. After some practice he has already mastered it. He absolutely loves it and wants to go cycling every day from early in the morning. his self-confidence has been boosted by the speed he can suddenly reach compared to his 16" :-)
the gear ratios are perfect for the city with some steeper bridges and hills (7-8% max)
We haven't had the bike for long, but so far we are very satisfied. small point of criticism: the included reflectors cannot be mounted due to the thickness of the frame, or I haven't found how yet. And the price... the bike is very expensive, and I personally think a bit to expensive. But on the other hand, the bicycle will survive and make many children happy. And i’m happy to pay for that.

I and my daughter lover her Belter 20. The bike is great. Build quality is amazing, the bike is light and the belt drive does not disappoint. She tried a friends bike with traditional gears and was such an inferior experience compared to the belt drive.

As my daughter has outgrown her Seeker 16" I decided to get her this one as successor. Blown away by Seeker 14" and 16" I expected nothing less on this one.
Long story short everything is just as fine as I thougt it would be: quick delivery, nice frame, well working brakes, belt. The belter even has the my preferred MTB stye pedals now, which make sure you stay on your bike like glued on and don't slip off in wet conditions.
The only downer was as I already read in other reviews on this and other sites the preload of the internal gear spring. Just like in other comments the load is way to high for kids to shift the gears on the ride (on the ground with both hands it might be possible though).
I realize this aspect refers more to the hub manufacturer Sturmey Archer than Early Rider.
For my part I reduced the spring preload from originally 180° to 90°. Now my daughter is happy with the new bike and shifts the gears effortless.
Nevertheless I needed special tools to dismantle the hub to work on the gear spring and not everyone got the tools or is dedicated to open the hub.
So for this price and and the manufacturer Early Rider beeing an expert for childrens bikes everey feature and not at least the gears should work for kids.
I am not too disappointed by that so I´d still recommend the bike to my friends.
On the other hand I could work on the hubs of my friends´ bikes as well.
If you would not like to do that it would be a great pity for having such a great bike and the…

My daughter began her cycling journey with a 16" Belter, and now we have bought a 20" in her favorite color, violet. The perfect fit of the frame helps her transition from 16 to 20 inches seamlessly.
