The full story

Super lightweight beautifully crafted aluminium.

Super lightweight aluminium, beautifully crafted to last for years

We use 6061-grade aluminium in our bikes. It's a fantastic material. Strong yet light, weatherproof and super robust.

It’s also a responsive material transferring more power from the pedals to the wheels. In real terms, this means it’s easier to pedal further for longer.

The benefit is a bike that literally goes the distance.

Geometry to get kids moving

Bike geometry is at the heart of safety, fun, and progress. Even exploring the local neighbourhood demands a capable geometry if we want our kids to safely acquire proper riding skills.

Like all of our Belters, the Belter 20 has a more progressive geometry so that kids can tackle the tightest turns and steepest slopes with confidence and capability.

The Gold Standard for Gearing

Super lightweight aluminium, beautifully crafted to last for years

We use 6061-grade aluminium in our bikes. It's a fantastic material. Strong yet light, weatherproof and super robust.

It’s also a responsive material transferring more power from the pedals to the wheels. In real terms, this means it’s easier to pedal further for longer.

The benefit is a bike that literally goes the distance.

Fantastic finish touches

The Belter 20 is equipped with anatomically designed Ritchey Logic bar and stem, and a twist shifter for intuitive gear changing.

Ritchey Logic have been at the forefront of component design for the past 50 years. We’ve collaborated with them for over a decade, producing some of best age specific components to ever grace a kids’ bike.

Tyres that won't throw them off track

The Belter 20 runs 2”, fast rolling tyres as standard, so that developing riding skills is made easier, safer and more enjoyable than the 1.5" tyres typically found on kids bikes.

Their extra volume and grip provide added control over the lumps and bumps and give the cushioning that makes riding more enjoyable.

2” tyres are also much more stable, especially in tricky conditions. With a bike that is more stable, you can shorten the rear triangle, and that improves handling and manoeuvrability making the bike more capable still.

Early Rider Belter 20 first impressions

My daughter previously had the Belter 14 model and could swiftly get used to, ride and enjoy the Belter 20! The bike handles well and the belt drive train & gears work smoothely

Perfect upgrade

Switched from seeker 16 to 20 for my 7 years old son. Gears are really cool feature. Overall amazing bikes for kids especially: weight of the bike and riding position. Seeker 16 intensively used for 3+ years with no issues. Both my kids learned on ER bikes. Quick, tracked delivery and very friendly staff. 5⭐ every time.

Mixed feelings

Our neighbours kids and ours have 4 early riders in total. We/they love it.

But, there is a but.

Our neighbour bought the Belter 20, and their big 7 year old boy could’t shift gears. Going down in the gears. He had to stop, and use two hands.

We were in doubt about buying the Belter20 and asked the support.

They replied with this answer:

Early Rider® EU

Hi there, to be honest we sell a large number of Belter 20 bikes and the number of problems we have is proportionately very small. The vast majority of riders don't have a problem using the shifters, unfortunately those with a problem who write a review make it sound like a bigger problem than it is!

Ok, we ordered it, and wrote as a comment if they could check/loosen the spring in the gearshifter. I know - a little optimistic.

We got the bike. Lovely bike!

But… The gearshifter IS way too hard. Our 7 year old boy has to stop, and use two hands to shift to lower gears.

And no answer on our request to check it.

So now we might also make it sound like a bigger problem than it is - but a problem endeed.

Greeting from Denmark

Thomas Balslev Hansen

Great bike with one flaw - the gear shifter.

The bike is great - as the two smaller versions have been. Unfortunately the grip shifter is inoperable for the force any five or six year old child could produce to change gear with one hand. This is a total misconstruction and I sure early rider knows about it but is just not caring enough to solve this problem.

Wonderfull !

My son is missing chromosomes. He began walking at 5. After one year of balance bike, he succeed pedals biking thanks to this belter 20. He his 10 years old but weight 28kg . He is not strong at all. The lightweight of early bikes helps him a lot !!! No problems with sharped pedals as sometimes read.

Great bike, looks beautiful and my child finds it easy to ride. The pedals have very sharp outer edges though, so mind out as they scratch you or material if you catch on the end when carrying or transporting.
